Pandemic: New Business, Many Opportunities

I can’t believe I thought I would blog every day. Wow I have only blogged once every month. I do need to get better, that’s for sure. Much has happened since my last entry just over one month ago especially with the pandemic. The one thing I do know is I made the right decision to retire and start my own business. Since I worked for the same company for over 35 years, I never took many risks with my career. Some people may question the timing but actually the climate has opened up new opportunities.

Those who know me, know I am the eternal optimist and approach life with humor. I try to post funny stuff every day on Facebook. My daily goal has always been to make at least one person laugh every day and that makes my day complete. On two occasions, I have brightened a couple of people’s days when I didn’t even realize what was going on.

Since my last blog post all of my spring speaking engagements were cancelled and rescheduled for 2021. I still hope to speak in the fall. In person would be ideal but virtually also works. I have been working on new virtual and online options. Many of them should be ready in the next few weeks. You never know but the next time you go online I may pop up on a video. I am almost 2/3 of the way through my online BA Coaching Series through Your Clear Next Step. I feel it has gone well but the series ending feedback will confirm this. (hopefully)

I did take some time to review quite a few articles I’ve saved over the last year to “read” later. Here is one that caught my eye by Jon Acuff. This resonated with me since I am a “recovering perfectionist.” I heard this from Barbara Carkenord. I have made huge progress in this battle so I think I am more toward a “recovered perfectionist.” If this is your affliction, read this article. Instead of seeking perfection, pursue excellence. I also admit to have the tendency to being a workaholic. I have gotten better in recent years but working from home permanently could make this resurface. Being my own boss, I have allowed myself to take an afternoon nap or a few hours off just to do nothing. If this is you, please read this article posted by Ariana Huffington. The article was written for Thrive Global by Nicole Lapin. Here is the link to the article:

I will be back with another blog entry much sooner than before. I am planning on having some things to reveal in the upcoming weeks. I plan to release an exclusive offer. Late yesterday I found out I made a close friend’s day by sending her a simple unexpected gift. Those moments are priceless. Stay tuned and the Relentless Optimist will return!
